Professor Beldona is the Program Director of the M.S. in Hospitality Business Management and Associate Professor with expertise in hospitality marketing at the Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics at the University of Delaware. Prior to joining academia, he worked for over seven years in the industry in the areas of lodging management, franchise development and technology training.
Professor Beldona focuses his research in the area of consumer psychology as it relates to developing measures of hospitality performance, evaluating commoditization and monitoring online consumer behavior.
Recent projects include an examination of guest attachment styles in hospitality and evaluating differences in perceptions of commoditization between industry executives and customers. His research has appeared in the Cornell Hospitality Quarterly, Journal of Travel Research, Tourism Management and the International Journal of Hospitality Management among others. He was ranked 15th in the world in research among hospitality faculty.
Professor Beldona teaches Hospitality Marketing, Customer Service Management and Travel Internet Marketing at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. He has been cited in the Chicago Tribune, Boston Globe, Express Hospitality, and Business Line among others on trends pertinent to hospitality marketing and education.
He was selected as one of 2015’s Top 25 Most Extraordinary Minds in Hospitality Marketing by Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI).
