Biography Biography
Avery Haviv is an associate professor of marketing at the University of Delaware’s Alfred Lerner College of Business & Economics, where he joined the faculty in 2026. He earned his Ph.D. in quantitative marketing from the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management and previously served on the marketing faculty of the University of Rochester’s Simon Business School.
His research combines rigorous empirical methods with economic modeling to answer practical business questions, drawing on structural models, dynamic games, natural experiments and economic theory. His work spans two principal streams: how firms and consumers strategically respond to marketing instruments such as pricing, advertising and branding in the consumer packaged goods industry; and demand spillovers across digital media goods, including video games, streaming and mobile apps. He has published in leading journals, including Marketing Science, Management Science, the Journal of Marketing and Operations Research. His brand-valuation research, published in Marketing Science in 2017, was nominated for the John D.C. Little Best Paper Award.
He has presented his research many times at academic conferences and seminars and received multiple teaching awards.
