Dan Alia is an instructor of business administration and faculty director of the minor in professional selling and sales management at the University of Delaware. He brings more than 22 years of experience leading sales growth, developing talent and building high-impact learning environments across both corporate and academic settings.
Before joining UD full-time, Dan served as chief operating officer at The Speaker Lab, where he helped drive revenue growth from $8M to $14.5M over three and a half years, earning the company a spot on the Inc. 5000 list for four consecutive years. Earlier in his career, he was the global training director at Stanley Black & Decker University, where he led a team delivering leadership, sales management and product training to thousands of employees, customers and distributors worldwide. He has also held progressive sales leadership roles at Boston Scientific, Alcon and Stanley Black & Decker, consistently achieving sales targets and leading large-scale training and development initiatives.
Dan received his bachelor of science from the University of Delaware and is a certified DISC behavioral analyst. He was honored with the Outstanding Adjunct Faculty Award by the Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics for the 2023–2024 academic year.
