Biography

Biography

Dawn Getty Sutphin, J.D., LL.M., is an instructor of legal issues of trust and fiduciary entities and the director of the director of trust management minor. She has a B.S. in the administration of justice with a minor in the legal environment of business from Penn State University, a juris doctorate from Widener University Delaware Law School, and an LL.M. in taxation from Villanova University School of Law.

Dawn practiced law in the litigation department at Ballard Spahr Andrews & Ingersoll, worked for PECO Energy Company as in-house and outside counsel and served as an assistant public defender with The Delaware County Public Defender’s Office. Dawn maintains a private practice focusing on estate planning and probate, and prior to joining the University of Delaware, Dawn was an adjunct professor at Lancaster Bible College for 9 years.
