Biography Biography
Hans A. Holter is an Assistant Professor of economics at the Lerner College of Business and Economics at the University of Delaware. His research focuses on how public policy affects the labor market and the macro-economy. He asks questions such as: how do modern welfare state policies affect the incentives to work and invest in human capital, how effective are they in providing insurance towards unexpected life-events, and how do we optimally design such policies? Before joining the University of Delaware, Dr. Holter was teaching at the University of Oslo in Norway and at Uppsala University in Sweden. He received his Ph.D. in economics from the University of Pennsylvania, his M.Sc. in economics from the London School of Economics and his S.B. in economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
