Biography

Biography

Iuliana Theis is an assistant professor in the Department of Hospitality and Sport Business Management at the Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics. She earned her Ph.D. in hospitality administration from the Conrad N. Hilton College at the University of Houston.

Dr. Theis is experienced in diverse aspects of the lodging industry, including front office, housekeeping, training, operations coordination and consulting. She previously worked in a lodging startup environment for Wanderstay Hospitality Group LLC, where she served as an operations coordinator and later a lodging consultant. Prior to that, she worked in operations for Marriott and Hilton.

Dr. Theis’s research interests center on how both customer and employee experiences can be improved in the hospitality industry. Specifically, her research focuses on customer service interactions, employee stress coping and industry perceptions and diversity, equity and inclusion.
