Biography
Jared Sharpe earned his Ph.D. in financial services analytics from the University of Delaware in 2023. His research focuses on applications of natural language processing (NLP) on the initial public offering (IPO) filing process, a publication for which can be found here: https://aclanthology.org/2022.finnlp-1.21/.
Dr. Sharpe has presented his work at the 4th Workshop on Financial Technology and Natural Language Processing (FinNLP) and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). Dr. Sharpe was named Outstanding Senator by the Graduate Student Government at UD in 2022 for his contributions evaluating the cost of living for UD graduate students. He was named a Data Science Institute fellow in 2023.
