Jing Ma is an assistant professor in the Department of Hospitality Business Management in the Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics at the University of Delaware. She earned her Ph.D. in hospitality and tourism management from Purdue University. Dr. Ma has experience in the foodservice industry across the globe. She worked closely with a number of restaurant chains in China as well as health departments and several restaurants/restaurant chains in the United States. Dr. Ma’s research interests are in the fields of restaurant operations and food safety. Currently, she is working on projects examining new media’s role in food safety communication.
As a HBM faculty member, Dr. Ma teaches classes in restaurant management and food safety for undergraduate students. She is an active member of the International Council of Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Education (I-CHRIE). Dr. Ma is also a Certified Hospitality Educator (CHE) designated by the American Hotel and Lodging Association.
