Karie O’Neill
Biography
Karie O’Neill brings over two decades of experience in event planning and marketing communications. In 2009, she founded Simply Perfect Weddings, a full-service event planning firm specializing in the design and execution of high-end events across Delaware, Maryland and Pennsylvania.
She joined the University of Delaware in 2016 and currently serves as associate director of strategic special events, where she leads the planning and production of signature university celebrations. Her work supports institutional priorities and engages university leadership, the Board of Trustees, distinguished alumni and national figures, including a former vice president of the United States.
Her professional philosophy centers on the power of storytelling through events. In the classroom, she draws upon her extensive industry experience to provide students with practical insights, real-world applications and a deep understanding of how strategic event design shapes organizational narratives.
