Polly Weir earned a B.A. from Ithaca and a master’s degree in urban affairs and public policy from UD. Her first job in the hospitality industry was as general manager of a popular restaurant. During this time, she co-owned and operated Body Tech fitness center. Polly was responsible for the sales, marketing and membership.
Later, Polly pursued a career in hospitality. She worked as the general manager of a small luxury hotel. After five years with that property, she became director of marketing and corporate trainer with The Radisson Hotel Group.
Polly is currently director of conference services at the University of Delaware, a position she has held for 28 years. She is responsible for two conference centers in Newark and one in Lewes. She is also an adjunct member of the Hospitality Business Management faculty.
Polly is the former longtime chairman of the Wilmington City Planning Commission and is a volunteer with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. She also remains active as a fitness instructor.
