Biography

Sarah Johnson is a 2021 graduate of the University of Delaware’s master of arts in economics and entrepreneurship for educators and joined the CEEE in 2023. After practicing as a litigation attorney in Philadelphia, Sarah decided to pursue her passion of becoming a teacher. She taught as a middle school special education social studies teacher in the Appoquinimink School District for four years, where she served as her building’s social studies department co-chair and piloted Grade 8 US Model History Lessons for the Delaware Writing Project.

Sarah subsequently moved to New Castle County Vocational Technical School District to teach high school social studies where she was selected as Howard High School of Technology’s Teacher of the Year and as part of a committee to revise the district’s common economics summative assessments. In addition to presenting at conferences including the Council for Economic Education’s Financial Literacy & Economic Education Conference, Sarah co-authored an economics lesson which is now included as part of Delaware’s Grade 7 Economics Model Lessons.
