Scott Bacon

Biography

Scott Bacon, a 2011 University of Delaware master of economics and entrepreneurship for educators graduate, joined the CEEE in 2015 after teaching social studies for 13 years in Delaware’s public schools. During his classroom career, Scott focused on high school economics and civics at all levels and was recognized in 2007 as Newark High School’s Teacher of the Year. He has forged solid partnerships with the Delaware teaching community in many different capacities, having served as social studies department and district chairs in the Brandywine and Christina School Districts and as co-chair of the Social Studies Coalition of Delaware. Scott has written lessons and assessment items for the Delaware Department of Education and the Council for Economic Education. He has presented workshops at conferences including the National Association of Economics Educators, the Council for Economic Education and the Middle States Council for Social Studies. In 2014 he was chosen by the Civics Renewal Network for his work with Project Citizen, representing Delaware at inaugural Constitution Day activities in Washington, D.C.
