Biography

Scott Bacon brings a wealth of experience to his role at the CEEE, where he has been a valued member since 2015. He holds a B.S. in social studies education from Millersville University, along with two master’s degrees from the University of Delaware: an M.A. in economics and entrepreneurship for educators, and an M.A. in educational leadership.

Before joining the CEEE, Scott spent 13 years teaching social studies in Delaware’s public schools, with a focus on high school economics and civics at all levels. His dedication and impact in the classroom earned him recognition as Newark High School’s Teacher of the Year in 2007. Scott also served as the social studies department chair and district chair in both the Brandywine and Christina School Districts, and as co-chair of the Social Studies Coalition of Delaware.

In addition to his classroom teaching career, Scott has contributed to the development of educational materials, writing lessons and assessments for the Delaware Department of Education and the Council for Economic Education. He has presented workshops at several prominent conferences, including those hosted by the National Association of Economics Educators, the Council for Economic Education and the Middle States Council for Social Studies (MSCSS). Scott currently serves as Treasurer for the MSCSS.
