Biography

Dr. Sreashi Das is an adjunct faculty member at the Department of Hospitality and Sports Management. She has a Ph.D. in intercultural communication (University of Maryland, College Park) and a master’s in strategic communication with a graduate certification in organizational behavior (Villanova University). She also has a second master’s degree in literature and gender studies (Calcutta University, India). Professionally, she has a background in advertising, public relations and web content-development.

As an intercultural scholar, Dr. Das uses mixed-methods research to examine how culturally different relational environments influence cognitive outcomes and, consequently, interpersonal communication in social contexts. In doing the above, her research pushes against dominant paradigms that prioritize Western theorizing and concepts by examining how other cultural perspectives can help make theories more inclusive and, thus, more predictive of cross-cultural human behavior.

At Lerner, Dr. Das teaches courses in intercultural communication and etiquettes in business contexts and executive presentations and problem-solving.
