Robert Kyle Dutrow, Class of 2025 hospitality business management major, is the president of the American Hotel Lodging Association at Lerner College. Dutrow shared why he joined the American Hotel Lodging Association and what makes this group unique!

Lerner: When and why did you choose to join this student group?

Dutrow: I founded the organization this past fall. I wanted to network and experience the lodging industry with other interested people.

Dutrow: We meet in Gore 310 on Tuesdays, and have approximately 10 members.

Lerner: What is the mission/goal of your student group?

Dutrow: The goal of this group is to connect students interested in the lodging industry with the tools they need to network and experience the field with like-minded students.

Lerner: What is your best memory or proudest moment from this student group?

Dutrow: Being able to attend the Hotel Expo at the Javitz Center in New York is my favorite memory from this group.

Lerner: What is unique about your student group?

Dutrow: We are a student group interested in the hotel industry, an aspect of hospitality not as well explored compared to restaurants or clubs on campus.

Lerner: What are your goals for the future of your student group?

Dutrow: I want the group to tour notable properties in the Delaware region and beyond, and also gain a chance to meet with key industry players.

Lerner: How has your student group helped you grow, personally or professionally?

Dutrow: It has allowed me to network with people interested in the lodging industry and share experiences with people more specific to my career interests.
