Lerner College Online MBA, Online Graduate Business Programs Included in Latest U.S. News and World Report Rankings

The University of Delaware’s Online MBA program is ranked 33rd in the nation and UD’s Online Master’s programs in Accounting Practice and International Business placed 66th in the Online Business, non-MBA category as announced this week in the 2023 U.S. News and World Report Best Online Programs ranking.

The UD Online MBA program is placed among the top 10 percent of all accredited programs.

UD’s Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics administers these programs and is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the highest standard of accreditation and a distinction that fewer than five percent of business schools worldwide have earned.

ONLINE MBA

“There are now over 350 accredited Online MBA programs. It speaks to the high standards of the Lerner program that it is ranked 33rd in the latest rankings,” said Bruce Weber, dean of UD’s Lerner College.

“While an integrative, cross-functional program such as the Lerner MBA cannot be boiled down to a number, we are pleased that the methodologies used capture the unique attributes of our program. We offer students tremendous choice and flexibility, attractive class sizes, access to faculty and staff professionals and a large alumni network that they join upon graduation. Placing in the top 40 shows students and our stakeholders that the Lerner Online MBA is a first-rate learning opportunity that opens rewarding career paths,” Weber added.

The U.S. News 2023 Best Online MBA Programs evaluated the Online MBA programs using weighted scores in five categories: engagement (30%), peer assessment (25%), faculty credentials and training (15%), student excellence (15%) and student services and technologies (15%).

Overall, UD’s Online MBA achieved a perfect score of 100 in the faculty credentials and training score, the maximum score a program can achieve for how well its instructors are prepared to teach online.

The UD Online MBA program features intensive seven-week terms, advanced digital curriculum with robust interaction with faculty and peers and access to personal career coaching.

Core courses cover fundamental business and management topics and five concentrations: business analytics, finance, healthcare management, strategic leadership and international business. Five departments in the Lerner College (accounting and management information systems, business administration, economics, finance and hospitality and sport business management) contribute core and elective courses to the online program.

ONLINE GRADUATE BUSINESS PROGRAMS

“The fact that our Online Master’s programs in Accounting Practice and International Business were recognized for the first-time out of 211 programs is a testament to the high-quality experience we provide for the online learner,”  Lerner’s Senior Associate Dean for Academic Programs Jack Baroudi said.

“We take the learning experience very seriously, to make sure that our courses are adhering to all the best practices for online education, as well as incorporating all the lessons that we’ve learned about what really works well for online graduate students.”

The 2023 Best Online Master’s in Business Programs rankings assess master’s-level business degree programs that are not MBA programs.
