Preparing Business Leaders for the AI Era

In this video, Lerner College Professor of MIS Harry Wang, Associate Professor of Operations Management Ming Zhao, and MBA + Ph.D. student Malek Elsayyid discuss the importance of AI skills for students entering the workforce.

Transcript

Harry Wang: Generative AI skills are becoming a must-have for working professionals. No matter what industry, being able to deeply understand AI technology; leveraging AI tools is essential to stay competitive and innovative. Our graduate certificate in AI for business is designed to jump-start the learning journey.

Malek Elsayyid: In the intro to AI class, Professor Harry Wang was very flexible and was very encouraging of students to come up with their own problem that is relevant to their field and ask themselves, “How could AI make this easier, and how could it make it streamlined?”

Ming Zhao: What I want students to get out of this class is I want them (to) feel comfortable to work with AI. Second, I want them be able to interpret results from AI and based on AI’s result, they can guide AI to explore their problem’s data for the next step.

Malek Elsayyid: AI really lends itself to creativity and thinking outside of the box for these problems that would normally be very tedious to solve.

Harry Wang: So, everybody needs to have these generative AI skills sooner or later.
