Biography

Louis R. Moffa, Jr. is a partner in the Litigation Department and a member of several practice groups including the Commercial Litigation Group, the Construction Law Group and the Labor, Employment & Immigration Group of Montgomery, McCracken, Walker & Rhoads, LLP. He is also General Counsel to the firm.

For more than three decades, Mr. Moffa has been an active trial and appellate litigator. His complex litigation practice has focused on business torts, civil rights and constitutional tort cases, commercial and construction contracts, and employment/wrongful discharge cases. Mr. Moffa has counseled major public and private companies in corporate governance, labor and employment, alternative dispute resolution and commercial transaction matters.

Mr. Moffa is admitted in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and the District of Columbia. He is also admitted to the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the District of Columbia, Third and Ninth Circuits, the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, and the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.

Mr. Moffa is a member of the American Bar Association, New Jersey State Bar Association, District of Columbia Bar Association and Camden County Bar Association. He is a Trustee of the Camden County Bar Foundation and a past president of the Camden County Bar Association. He is Chairman of the Board of the Camden County College Foundation and a member of the Board of Directors of the American Red Cross, Southern New Jersey Chapter.

Mr. Moffa is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Delaware in the Lerner School of Business and Economics where he teaches upper-level undergraduate courses in Business Law and Labor/Employment Law, as well as a freshmen course entitled Basics of Business.

Mr. Moffa is a graduate of Georgetown University (B.S. B.A., magna cum laude, 1979) and Georgetown University Law Center (J.D., magna cum laude, 1982), where he was an editor of Law and Policy in International Business, the Georgetown International Law Journal.
