Biography

Biography

Saif Mir is an assistant professor of operations management with a background in both academia and the maritime industry. He holds a Ph.D. and an MBA from the University of Arkansas. Before his academic career, Dr. Mir worked as a merchant mariner on oil tankers as a deck officer.

Dr. Mir has held faculty positions at the College of Charleston and Lehigh University. He focuses on connecting academic concepts with real-world industry experience in his teaching. His research is focused on behavioral supply chain management, with an emphasis on buyer-supplier relationships and supply chain sustainability. His work examines how human behavior influences supply chain decision making.

In 2024, Dr. Mir received a runner-up honor for the Bernard J. LaLonde Best Paper Award, which is given by the Journal of Business Logistics.
