Lerner: How do you think you have changed from your first semester at UD to now?

Fakhrizadeh: I think in my first semester I felt lost and confused about my future, but through these two years I learned a lot and found my path.

Lerner: What have been some of the challenges you have faced during your college experience and how did you overcome them?

Fakhrizadeh: At the beginning, it was hard to handle multiple courses and their homework all with the same deadline and in English, over time I learned how to manage my time and I even finished everything a few days before the deadline. I was a procrastinator, but now I am very on time.

Lerner: What was your favorite signature UD experience and why?

Fakhrizadeh: Lerner graduate programs (internship/GA/TA). It was very helpful to get connected with the companies through school.

Lerner: Did you have a Lerner professor or staff member that had a big impact on your UD experience?

Fakhrizadeh: I have multiple, Participating in Dr. Daniel Sullivan’s and Dr. Andrea Everad’s classes changed my life. I found my career path and learned about presenting myself for interviews and required skills for today’s work environment in BUAD 648. I learned about leadership and learned to respect diversity and … in Information Technology class and it helped me a lot to see my worth and gain confidence.

Lerner: What does being a “Lifelong Lerner” mean to you?

Fakhrizadeh: It means the world is changing pretty quickly and we need to keep up with it.

Lerner: What advice would you give to incoming freshmen to make the most out of their college experience?

Fakhrizadeh: Focus on their study because it is such a self investment and they can create a bright future for themselves that in 10 years they will be proud of.

Lerner: What are your plans following graduation?

Fakhrizadeh: I accepted an offer last week. So, working.
