A native of Marlton, N.J., Angelina Ramola is graduating from the University of Delaware’s Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics as an entrepreneurship major.

Ramola was nominated for this series by Assistant Director of Lerner Career Services Minda Watson, who recognized her as an “unbelievably exemplary individual and an exceptional representative of what Lerner strives for our students to be.”

In this profile, Ramola shares her favorite UD memories, how she has changed during her time at UD and her plans following graduation.

Lerner: How do you think you have changed from your first semester at UD to now?

Ramola: The most impactful change I’ve experienced throughout my time at UD has been gaining a strong sense of purpose. As a first semester freshman transitioning into a new chapter of life, I had not yet recognized my potential. It took a journey filled with unexpected challenges yet an abundance of opportunity to understand where I am meant to be. Now, being a second semester senior, I can say that I am confident in my path, no matter what the future holds.

Lerner: What have been some of the challenges you have faced during your college experience and how did you overcome them?

Ramola: A significant challenge I have faced during my time in college was adjusting to college level academics. This challenge became especially prominent during my junior year, where I chose to take an 18 credit semester while juggling multiple commitments. Not only did I have an obligation to my job, but I took on a role in my campus sorority that demanded a lot of extra time. My perseverance and positive attitude are what helped me get through a situation where I had unintentionally bitten off more than I could chew.

Lerner: What was your favorite signature UD experience and why?

Ramola: The best UD signature experience for me isn’t tied to one specific moment, but rather a collection of small victories that shaped my college journey; acing an exam, landing an internship, and forming meaningful connections with professors. These victories are what gradually build confidence and perseverance during the college experience.

Lerner: Did you have a Lerner professor or staff member that had a big impact on your UD experience?

Ramola: Minda Watson had an incredible impact on my UD experience. Not only has she watched me grow throughout my journey, but she has been the unconditional support that I never knew I needed. She is a helping hand, a friendly face, and a supportive presence when I have needed it most.

Lerner: What does being a “Lifelong Lerner” mean to you?

Ramola: To me, being a “Lifelong Lerner” means taking advantage of every opportunity to learn and grow – both in my career and personal life. Innovation, leadership, and community are values I will take with me through every future endeavor, thanks to Lerner.

Lerner: What advice would you give to incoming freshmen to make the most out of their college experience?

Ramola: I would tell every incoming freshman to take every single opportunity that is put forth in front of them. You get what you put in, and every single chance that you take is a stepping stone to success.

Lerner: What are your plans following graduation?

Ramola: Following graduation, I plan to continue my education at Florida State University, where I will pursue a master’s degree in business analytics.
