Lifelong Lerner: Emma Saxton

A native of Newark, Del., Emma Saxton is graduating from the University of Delaware’s Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics with an MBA and M.S in Business Analytics and Information Management (BAIM)

Saxton was nominated for this series by Academic Program Manager Andrea Hartman.  

In this profile, Saxton shares her favorite UD memories, how she has changed during her time at UD and her plans following graduation.

Lerner: How do you think you have changed from your first semester at UD to now?

Saxton: The UD Lerner College has had such a diverse group of both professors and students that have broadened my understanding or views of the world through hearing others’ experiences. 

Lerner: What have been some of the challenges you have faced during your college experience and how did you overcome them?

Saxton: The biggest challenge was adjusting to the courseload and structure of the courses. Time management and staying ahead were the best ways to stay ahead. 

Lerner: What was your favorite signature UD experience and why? 

Saxton: I enjoyed going to the creamery! 

Lerner: Did you have a Lerner professor or staff member that had a big impact on your UD experience? 

Saxton: All of the professors were extremely knowledgeable and passionate about their courses which made the experience much more enjoyable. 

Lerner: What does being a “Lifelong Lerner” mean to you?

Saxton: Being a “Lifelong Lerner” means being connected and always growing. 

Lerner: What advice would you give to incoming freshmen to make the most out of their college experience?

Saxton: Be open-minded to new experiences because you never know where something might take you or what potential benefits it might bring.

Lerner: What are your plans following graduation?

Saxton: Getting a job in data analytics.
