Elizabeth Mitchell: I chose international business because I’ve always had a passion for traveling and expanding my cultural knowledge.
And I just thought a business degree would be a really good way of being able to have a good job,but also be able to travel the world.
Navleen Kaur: My favorite experience was definitely studying abroad in Martinique this past winter session, and I really got to work on my French.
I lived with the host family and she only spoke French, so it was great practice for me to completely immerse myself in the French culture and practice my speaking, reading and writing skills.
Julia Birchfield: I think my major is unique because it’s one of the few majors in the business school that really focuses on the global perspective of business and how to conduct business anywhere and with anyone.
Katarina Rodriguez Thomas: So far, my favorite class has been economics in developing countries and this class is really dives into the different economics that happen behind the scenes for like countries based on their like developmental status.
And so what this is really you’re able to see how the different businesses can work together to build that up and how the globe affects each other on every side.
Navleen Kaur: My career goals are to either work in marketing or do something in strategic consulting, and my major is helping me reach my vision by giving me the opportunity to take business classes that focus on the global atmosphere in business, and also encouraging me to keep studying French.
So if I do decide to work abroad at any point in my career, I will have the language abilities as well as the cultural awareness to do so.
