Summer Kehl: The operations management major is unique because you’re able to combine your creative side with your more analytical side to find an optimal solution to a problem and really just think outside of the box.

Federica Crispo: Something that I think is unique about my major is the fact that operations is – it’s something that’s applicable to every department of any business. There’s operations in finance, in accounting, in IT. There’s a need for management for cost analysis, for forecasting in every single department of a business. So, I think operations actually offers a very wide variety of opportunities after graduation.

Summer Kehl: My favorite class that I have taken so far has been the Operations Management Capstone class because it allows you to work on a real-life problem with a client and it’s just great real-world experience and you also know that the work that you’re doing is going to make a difference.

Federica Crispo: I started off as an international business major because I wasn’t quite sure what I wanted to do at school as well as in my career. Then I was able to take all the intro classes for my business major. So, I look introduction to marketing, introduction to operations and thanks to my professor I was able to gain a new understanding of the business world and of how businesses work in general.

Summer Kehl: Many of my career aspirations involve me owning my own businesses and being in some sort of managerial role and because of that operations management truly gives me the tools that I need to analyze how well my business is doing, plan for the future and even solve any problems that come my way.
