Lerner Hosts Annual Management Research Summit

professor talks at 2025 Management Research Summit

On  March 14, the University of Delaware’s Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics hosted its annual Management Research Summit “Pi in the Sky: Dreaming Big in Management Research.” The event included three keynote presentations from lead scholars in management research: Kevin Corley from Imperial College, who specializes in qualitative methods, John Delery from the University of Arkansas, who specializes in human resource management, and Jennifer Tosti Kharas from Babson College, who specializes in meaningful work. This event was facilitated by assistant professors of management at the Lerner College Beth Schinoff and Stacy Astrove in the Department of Business Administration. With over 18 schools throughout the Mid-Atlantic region being represented by attendees, this particular Management Research Summit was the largest one to date.

In this day-long conference held in the Fintech Innovation Hub, management scholars throughout the Mid-Atlantic met with one another, discussed research ideas, and created future collaborations for research. In addition, 16 PhD students from different schools participated in a “rapid research” presentation, where they were given 5 minutes to briefly present their research and receive feedback through forms filled out by attendees. Throughout the rest of the day, attendees had conversations with one another about tackling challenges that face management professors, including issues related to Artificial Intelligence and the disconnect between research and “real world” managers.
