UD’s Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics continues to aspire to delivering inspirational education and pioneering scholarship and building inclusive communities that beneficially transform business and society. You can help Lerner fulfill its mission this GivingTuesday. Now through December 31st Lerner will be fundraising for the following 11 GivingTuesday projects, led by students, faculty, staff and alumni.

Contributions can be made at any level to support a cause close to your heart and make an impact on students and programs through Lerner’s GivingTuesday efforts. The following Lerner projects are located under Business & Entrepreneurship in the GivingTuesday portal:

Blue Hen Real Estate Club – This program strives to empower the next generation of real estate leaders by enhancing member networking and learning opportunities through professional event attendance. The club is currently raising funds to send 15 students to the 2024 CRE Private Credit Finance Summit in NYC, which offers exclusive networking opportunities with industry professionals and discussions on private credit finance trends and strategies.

Data Enchanted: The Econ Games – A Taylor Swift themed data workshop series that introduces students to coding and data analysis. Through this eight-part series, students learn to use the statistical software Stata to build, clean, and transform data for analysis.

Department of Economics – This project will directly fund learning experiences and student outreach programs that connect students with economics.

John L. Weinberg Center For Corporate Governance – This project aims to introduce students to the field of corporate governance and highlight its relationship to their academics. The center aims to be a neutral forum for informed dialogue by fostering interactions intended to shape and influence corporate governance debates.

Lerner Professional Success Initiative – This project will strengthen the Lerner Executive Mentoring Program, the Lerner Edge Program, and the Lerner Professional Attire Fund, all of which deliver unmatched opportunities and enhance the professional development of Lerner students.

MS Business Analytics & Information Management – This project supports the MS in Business Analytics & Information Management which prepares students to thrive in a data-driven economy by teaching them how to work with and manipulate data to provide analytic insights. This project supports case competitions, conference attendance, and networking with industry professionals.

National Association of Black Accountants (NABA) – This initiative strives to support students in attending the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA) National Conference, which provides students with access to internships, scholarships, and full-time employment possibilities through networking with industry leaders.

Phi Chi Theta Professional Business Fraternity – This organization is a co-ed business fraternity that aims to help students develop socially and professionally according to their three pillars of professionalism, brotherhood, and philanthropy. This project will assist in creating opportunities to set Phi Chi Theta members up for success.

Transformational Experiences In Finance – Provide UD finance students with opportunities to attend financial conferences and visit regional employers in the finance industry. This organization aims to create opportunities for Blue Hens through transformational experiences focusing on additional training, alumni engagement and promoting the Lerner brand within the industry.

UDREAM: Lerner Student Support Services – UDREAM, or “U” Develop Resources for Excellence in Academic Management, provides academic support services to underrepresented, first-generation and Pell Grant eligible undergraduate students in the Lerner College of Business and Economics.

Women in Economics (WiE) – This program empowers undergraduate women in economics-related fields to connect academically and socially by supporting Women in Economics (WiE), an inclusive and uplifting community which fosters connections among members, professors, and alumni.
