Lerner Class of 2025 turns opportunity into career success

Business is everywhere—across industries, organizations and communities. That’s why, at the University of Delaware‘s Lerner College of Business and Economics, business is for everyone.

With more than 20 majors and 20 minors, Lerner gives students the flexibility to build an academic path around their interests and career goals. Career resources, mentorship programs, connections with industry leaders and a global alumni network help students turn that personalized education into professional opportunity. The Class of 2025 shows what can happen when academic choice meets real-world experience and support.

“Business influences every industry and touches nearly every aspect of our lives, which is why we believe business education should create opportunities for everyone,” said Oliver Yao, dean of the Lerner College. “The Class of 2025 demonstrates how a flexible academic experience, strong support system and access to industry can prepare students to pursue careers aligned with their individual goals.”

Within six months of graduation, 92% of Lerner undergraduates were employed or continuing their education. Graduates reported a median starting salary of $67,500. The career outcomes rate exceeded the 90% national benchmark for undergraduate business students reported by the National Association of Colleges and Employers. Employers hiring Lerner graduates included JPMorganChase, Deloitte, EY, KPMG, PwC, Goldman Sachs, BlackRock, Bank of America, Citi, Vanguard, Morgan Stanley, Amazon and Marriott International.

“Career success begins with helping students understand how their interests, strengths and experiences can translate into meaningful opportunities,” said Jill Pante, chief of staff and director of Lerner Career Services. “Lerner students benefit from personalized career guidance, employer connections and a strong alumni network that help them move confidently from the classroom into the workplace.”

Because no two career paths are the same, Lerner graduates put their degrees to work across a wide range of fields:

  • Financial planning and wealth management and finance majors became financial analysts and associate wealth advisers, while accounting graduates entered roles in audit, tax and risk.
  • Management information systems, business analytics and operations management majors applied their data and process expertise as data analysts, IT consultants and supply chain specialists in technology, financial technology and global logistics.
  • Economics majors used quantitative modeling in roles such as economic consultant and strategy analyst.
  • Global business management majors brought cross-cultural expertise to international consulting and corporate operations.
  • Marketing and entrepreneurship majors began careers as brand coordinators and business development representatives or launched their own ventures.
  • Sport management and hospitality and event business management graduates applied their coursework as operations coordinators and guest experience managers in professional sports, college athletics and hospitality.

From corporate strategy and technology innovation to marketing and guest experience, the Class of 2025 demonstrates the value of an inclusive, personalized business education. With support from faculty, mentors, alumni and corporate partners, Lerner students can connect their interests with careers where they can contribute and grow.
