Students at the University of Delaware’s Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics have almost 30 unique student groups that they can choose to join. In each installment of this series, an executive member of one of these student groups will share their first-hand experience choosing, participating in and eventually leading their group.

Tingru Nan, Class of 2020 MBA with a business analytics concentration, is the president of the MBA Student Association at the Lerner College. Nan shared why she joined MBASA, what makes this group unique and more!

 

When and why did you choose to join this student group?

Nan: I joined in October 2018 in order to gain leadership experience.

 

What is the mission of your student group?

Nan: To provide leadership experiences and networking chances for all MBA students.

 

What is your best memory from this student group?

Nan: When we held the MBASA conference.

 

What is unique about your student group?

Nan: We have members from very different backgrounds.

 

What has been your proudest moment leading your student group?

Nan: It’s very challenging to run a conference and we made it through.

 

What are your goals for the future of your student group?

Nan: Finish our many goals without getting in trouble that we can’t overcome.

 

How has your student group helped you grow?

Nan: I have practiced my leadership skills.
