Ryleigh Pineda, a 2025 graduate of the Lerner College of Business and Economics with a sport management major, built her college experience around hands-on learning, leadership and a passion for the sports industry. She also expanded her industry perspective through an operations internship with NBCUniversal during coverage of the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics.
National experts gathered at the University of Delaware’s Economic Forecast to discuss fiscal policy, uneven growth and political incentives shaping the U.S. economy, offering insights for business leaders, educators and policymakers.
The four students worked different shifts to help with the coordination of the conference including registration, information desk and the VIP lounge, and were able to attend conference panels, presentations and workshops.
Students were immersed in four of Europe’s most influential sports cultures in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and Spain.
Wendy K. Smith, Dana L. Johnson Professor of Management and recipient of the UD’s Francis Alison Award — the first faculty member from the Lerner College to earn the honor — will deliver her lecture on paradox theory, exploring how “both/and” thinking strengthens leadership, decision-making and innovation in complex times.
The publication notes the College’s Transformative Excellence Plan, Siegfried Hall and programming at the graduate and MBA levels.
Lerner sport management professors John Allgood and Nataliya Bredikhina discussed the opportunity for athletes to elevate their personal brands and the economic impact of the host cities.
Manning’s path began in the United States Air Force and continues at UD as a Siegfried Fellow and Siegfried Student Award for Entrepreneurial Leadership recipient.
UD CEEE’s Foundations of Financial Literacy series helps Delaware educators deepen financial knowledge through expert-led sessions on insurance, investing and long-term planning, equipping teachers to support students’ real-world decision-making.
Research-based and classroom-tested, the UD CEEE’s Keys to Financial Success program is being updated to support Delaware teachers and students as the state implements a new financial literacy graduation requirement.
