For the second consecutive year, the University of Delaware’s Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics has received the 2025 Inspiring Programs in Business Award from Insight Into Academia magazine (formerly Insight Into Diversity).

This national recognition honors College and University programs that support and advance underrepresented students in business and prepare them for inclusive leadership. Lerner College was featured alongside 20 other recipients in the magazine’s April 2025 issue for its continued work through the Lerner Diversity Council (LDC).

The LDC, led by Assistant Professor of Marketing Anu Sivaraman, is a collaborative group of students, staff, faculty and alumni that guides Lerner’s equity, diversity and inclusion efforts. It fosters a culture that values both shared and unique perspectives through programs such as Lunch and Learn events, listening forums and partnerships with student-run organizations.

The council also collaborates with UDREAM to support undergraduates through academic coaching and peer mentoring. In addition, Lerner Career Services offers personalized development opportunities, from executive mentoring to internships, while faculty and staff hiring committees prioritize diversity in recruitment.

High school outreach, including Lerner Business Discovery Day, introduces students to the dynamic world of business and expands access to business education.

“We are proud to honor these programs as role models for inclusive excellence,” said Lenore Pearlstein, publisher of Insight Into Academia.

By focusing on community-building, inclusive programming and equitable practices, Lerner College continues to create pathways for all students to thrive in business.
