Minor in Professional Selling and Sales Management

Learn how to be the bridge between organizations and consumers.

The minor in professional selling and sales management is designed to provide you with the concepts and language of personal selling and sales management, no matter your major. Professional sales knowledge and techniques will improve your ability to realize desired results, whether you are responsible for selling products and services to the public or selling recommendations to teams within an organization.

You’ll be prepared to work in a variety of industries, including:

  • Packaged goods
  • Finance
  • Medical/dental sales
  • Pharmaceuticals
  • Telecommunications

BUAD 301 – Introduction to Marketing
BUAD 309 – Organizational Behavior
BUAD 423 – Negotiation and Conflict Resolution
BUAD 470 – Introduction to Personal Selling or ENTR 452 – Entrepreneurial Selling (Entrepreneurship majors only)
Select 2 courses from the following:
BUAD 481 – Sales Management
BUAD 482 – Sales Enablement & Analytics
BUAD 483 – Sales Practicum

Admissions Information

A minimum overall GPA of 2.8 or better and a minimum of 28 credits completed at UD is required for consideration. Students with majors outside the Lerner College must also complete BUAD 301 and BUAD 309 with grades of B or better prior to applying. Applications are reviewed twice a year, from March 15 – August 5 for the fall semester, and from October 15 – January 5 for the spring semester.
